After Bali and Queenstown/New Zealand the UQ Annual Skin Cancer Conference is back in Queensland again and it is our pleasure to welcome you this August to beautiful Noosa. Again we have prepared a special program for you with a mix of workshop, key-note lectures and interactive sessions.
This year our International guest speakers are Professor Luc Thomas, Department of Dermatology in Lyon, France and Professor Masaru Tanaka, Department of Dermatology Tokyo, Women’s Medical University in Tokyo, Japan. Both are world leaders in the field of pigmented lesions on the nail and acral pigmented lesions, respectively. Luc will also share with us his thoughts about Dermoscopy in Europe and his thought-provoking new research findings on the “Impact of BRAF inhibitors on dermoscopic features of pigmented lesions of the skin”. Masaru on the other hand will tell us about dermoscopy in Japan and will share his view of “Chronology of Melanocytic Skin Lesions”.
We are delighted to welcome Professor Joanne Aitken, Head of Research at Cancer Council Queensland and Director of the Queensland Cancer Registry, and Professor David Whiteman, Head of the Cancer Control Group at Queensland Institute of Medical Research, both world-renowned epidemiologists and public health researchers who will enlighten us with the newest QLD cancer registry data and QLD research projects (QSkin).
We welcome as a new speaker Dr. Danny Youlden from the Cancer Council Queensland to speak on multiple primary melanomas and welcome back Dr. Tarl Prow from the UQ Dermatology Research Centre to tell us about translational skin cancer research.
The program for the 2014 conference has been designed to provide an in depth Skin Cancer focus with international specialists and local thought leaders.
